We are once again returning to Chester Rugby Club and there will be a choice of routes provisionally 30, 51 and 87 miles long. The weekend will feature a new walking event called Walk Chester approximately 15 miles long. taking in historic Chester and the Cheshire countryside.

Bike Chester Rider - 2023

The 2024 route is a figure of eight with the midpoint at Wrenbury. All riders leave the rugby club heading east towards Delamere before turning south through the Cheshire countryside. The short route turns back around Beeston Crag, and the medium and long routes continue via Eaton and Bunbury to Wrenbury. From here, the long route continues south into Shropshire, through Stoke on Tern and Hodnet before heading turning back for home, via Whitchurch, back through Wrenbury once again, before picking up the medium route and returning to the rugby club

For rider safety we do have a cut-off time of 4pm, but this provides ample time and should allow many types of rider to enjoy Bike Chester.
At the start, riders set off in pods of about 20 after a briefing. There will be a female only pod for each of the ride distances for anyone who would prefer this.
There are toilet facilities at the start/finish and at the feed stations. Period products will be available in all female toilets and from female members of Iconic Cycling Events Staff/volunteers.
There are changing facilities at the start and finish and a bag drop at the start.

If you become pregnant after entering Bike Chester and no longer wish to participate in this year’s event, please get in touch. We can either defer your place or offer you a refund.
New for 2024 the Bike Chester weekend will include the Walk Chester event. The route, approximately 12 miles long will take in historic Chester and the surrounding Cheshire countryside.
The Walk Chester route heads north out of the rugby club and picks up the Chester Millennium Greenway heading west, before heading south on the North Cheshire Way alongside the Shropshire Union Canal and skirting the city centre to the west, before picking up the River Dee to circumnavigate Chester Race Course. Then the route heads north following the old city walls into the city centre past Chester Cathedral and under the Eastgate Clock and past the Roman Ampitheatre and the Roman Gardens. The route then joins the Two Saints Way through Grosvenor Park and alongside the canal to Christleton before heading north back to the Rugby Club.
All Walk Chester participants will be provided with a route map containing information on local history and all walkers will receive a medal and a meal at the end of the walk.
